Rules Black Mesa Roleplay Server Ruleset

Due to the former document pertaining to the server rules having been removed, I’ve decided to conduct a remake where all of the rules are written clearly and concisely, you understand that upon joining the server you hereby agree to all of the guidelines listed below.

All members of the community including the staff team and event team are required to follow and enforce them always.

This ruleset is not here to limit your experience but rather to give everyone the same opportunity to develop their characters, enjoy a fun environment and to know what it is you can and cannot do.

General Ruleset

• No discrimation targeted against anyone regardless of their ethnicity, race, gender, religious beliefs, political affiliation, orientation, nationality, age or disability under any circumstance.

• Never use profanity, foul language, personal harassment or racial slurs against any member of this community.

• Do not cause or spread drama as this is strictly prohibited, discussing a subject like a political topic is fine as long as they do not lead to arguments.

• Impersonation, pretending to be someone else or even a member of staff is strictly prohibited.

• File an Abuse Report if you feel like you have been mistreated or disagree with the final decision of an admin.

• All decisions by staff in any given situation, are final, unless stated otherwise by staff.

• Posting malicious links containing for example sexually explicit or controversial content or rather malware will lead to immediate removal from the community.

• Permanent bans can be appealed 1 month after the ban has been issued.

• Loopholes, attempting to navigate around a rule to avoid punishment or gain an advantage IC is forbidden and will be punished severely.

• Do not make mention of servers, steam groups and discord servers, other than LimeFruit. As an example you cannot self promote or promote any of the things listed above in OOC chat or PM.

Character Ruleset

• A character is required to have a first and last name, without it being reduplicate (where both first and last name are the same)

• Your name is not allowed to be from a comic book, video game or from real life, example a celebrity.

• A name shouldn't have more than two middle names.

• You can add titles but should not be confused with ranks.

• A character description must include physical features of the person such as. .

Physical characteristics:

- Facial traits -
- Height (metric system: e.g., 1m80)
- Age remarks (e.g., 'appears to be in their late 50s')

Vocal characteristics:

- Accent (e.g., 'speaks with a heavy Yorkshire accent')

• A character description is not allowed to include a backstory, nor hobbies, favourite foods or personal motivations (for example: 'Margret loves her job, she enjoys working at Black Mesa and is known for ordering blueberry pancakes at lunch.')

• There's no minimum or maximum limit as to how long it should be, use your own discretion since this is a Serious RP server.

Roleplay Ruleset

• RDM - Random Death Match is the act of killing another player without a valid roleplay reason.

• Metagaming is the act of using information gained by OOC means to gain an advantage IC, example through OOC chat or PM's.

• Metabaiting is trying to lure someone into committing metagaming, example asking in OOC chat where someone is located.

• Powergaming is the act of forcing an action on a character that may influence them until PK or not letting them respond to your action. Additionally it involves giving your character an unrealistic advantage through roleplay.

• FearRP is the act of displaying fear due to the possibility of being injured or loosing your life, an example would be not complying when held at gunpoint, violating this rule can lead to an OOC punishment or a PK.

• You should always try your best to remain IC at all times, always keep IC and OOC seperate from each other.

• L2ARP - Leaving to avoid Roleplay, if you need to leave during a roleplay scenario involving conflict then you need to notify staff.

• L2AP - Leaving to avoid Punishment, if you commit a rule break or are in a staff sit and leave you will be dealt with harshly.

• Trolling/Minging is not allowed under any circumstance, example bunnyhopping, throwing props around and not letting people RP fairly.

• ERP - Erotic Roleplay is a type of roleplay that encompasses sexually explicit behaviour and is not allowed.

Character PK Requirements

• Deciding to combat overwhelming odds or to venture out into an area that is either aggressive or unknown to you on your lonesome. It is not forbidden to take risks but this will place you at risk of a PK.

• Violating the rule of FearRP can place you at a risk of a character PK.

• A player can request a PK on their on character if they wish.

• Anyone can request a PK of another player but it is up to staff discretion if the PK would indeed be valid.

• Only a staff member neutral to the situation can carry out a PK meaning they cannot be involved in the scenario.

• If your character ends up committing suicide it will always be a PK.

• If you believe a PK was invalid you may appeal it under the PK Appeals Section

• Once a PK appeal has been denied it is a final decision that cannot be reappealed.

Additional Ruleset

• Do not exploit bugs in any way (to your advantage or disadvantage), report them when they are encountered.

• Do not exploit console commands, failure to comply will result in a warning and possible ban

• Do not abuse flags and/or whitelists. Examples may include: PET to propsurf/propkill/propblock others; excessive PAC3s that do not fit the setting; alternating to your xenian whitelist to cause unauthorized havoc across the facility.

• Abuse of flags and/or whitelists will result in those flags/whitelists being revoked.

• Avoid the construction of unrealistic items and props. Make sure any construction is in line with the lore and time the server is set in.

• When using PET flags to create constructions that add to or interfere with the architecture of the map, admin approval is required.

• Do not use alternate accounts to evade an active ban, this will cause both of your accounts to be permanently banned.

• Do not threaten to crash or DDOS the server, this will lead to a permanent ban.

• Use of any ESP's or external software will cause you to be community banned.
