This document serves as the official guideline to the Engineering & Operations team at Black Mesa ​

General Overview
The Engineering & Operations faction is responsible for the upkeep and repair of all equipment and infrastructure within the Black Mesa facility. This includes everything from repairing faulty machinery to ensuring that all systems are operating at optimal levels. The Maintenance faction works closely with other factions within Black Mesa to ensure that all aspects of the facility are functioning properly.

Conduct
Members of the Engineering & Operations faction are expected to adhere to the highest levels of professionalism and conduct at all times. This includes maintaining a clean and organized work environment, being punctual and reliable, and following all safety protocols. Any failure to adhere to these standards will result in disciplinary action.

Equipment
The Engineering & Operations team is equipped with a wide range of tools and equipment to carry out their duties. This includes everything from hand tools and power tools to specialized diagnostic equipment. All equipment is regularly checked and maintained to ensure it is in good working order. Different types of equipment will be handed out depending on your rank as well, with higher ranked workers getting access to more equipment.

Specializations
Within the Engineering & Operations faction, there are a number of specialized roles that team members can pursue. These include logistics, engineers, construction and janitorial duties. These specializations allow team members to focus on specific areas of expertise and provide highly specialized services to the facility.

Guidelines​

1. Follow all safety protocols and procedures at all times.
2. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
3. Report any issues or problems with equipment or facilities immediately to the team leader.
4. Communicate effectively with team members and other factions to ensure the smooth running of operations.
5. Follow all policies and procedures outlined by the facility.
6. Use equipment and tools responsibly and report any issues or damage immediately.
7. Be punctual and reliable in attendance and completing tasks.
8. Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
9. Report any incidents or accidents immediately to the team leader.

Protocols & Procedures

1. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times when working on equipment or facilities. This includes hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and any other necessary protective gear.
2. Follow all posted warning signs and caution tape, and do not enter restricted areas unless authorized.
3. Use caution when handling hazardous materials, and follow all safety guidelines for handling and storage.
4. Follow all lock-out/tag-out procedures when working on equipment to ensure that it is safely de-energized.
5. Follow all guidelines for the use of power tools, including using the proper protective gear and following proper operating procedures.
6. Do not use damaged or defective equipment, and report any issues immediately to the team leader.
7. Follow proper lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
8. If working at heights, use proper fall protection equipment and follow all safety guidelines.
9. Report any incidents or accidents immediately to the team leader.
10. Follow all facility policies and procedures related to safety.
